Linear Plastics staff attending internal training programme

Training at all levels

Linear Plastics, leading toolmaker and contract injection moulder, continues to implement a programme of training throughout the organisation at all levels.

The company’s latest development sees Manufacturing Manager Paul Powell undertake study with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

Paul began his career via the traditional engineering apprenticeship route and then worked in various parts of the electronics sector in Wales before joining Linear Plastics in 1991. One of his first responsibilities as Quality Assurance Manager was to secure the Quality Management standard ISO 9001 for the business. Some 27 years later and Paul has exchanged his Quality responsibilites for the Manufacturing Manager role.

Modern manufacturing provides endless opportunities for learning and I am delighted to be undertaking Level 5 training with the ILM. As a Six Sigma green belt practitioner I am well placed to share and lead the adoption of those and other skill sets throughout the whole value chain at Linear Plastics.

Paul Powell — Manufacturing Manager

Andrew Harrison, Company General Manager says that ‘every single one of our 100 plus employees at Linear Plastics is given the opportunity for career development that also enhances the work of the company. Paul’s acceptance onto ILM Level 5 is a perfect illustration of that symbiosis. We wish him every success with it in the months ahead.’
